Danielle Y. Scott

President & CEO

A strong, strategic and collaborative executive with more than 25 years in the nonprofit sector, Danielle Y. Scott is the inaugural president and CEO of the Pincus Family Foundation (PFF).
Under her leadership, Danielle has transformed the PFF into a celebrated nonprofit that has distributed more than $30 million to nearly 300 grantee partners worldwide since 2012. Initially hired by David Pincus in 1997 to work for the Pincus family business, she served as his personal and executive assistant, and oversaw his many philanthropic activities. Before his passing in 2011, Pincus established a framework for the future of the PFF, and entrusted Danielle to lead the organization into the future alongside its board of trustees. The PFF’s mission is to support its nonprofit partners in developing and enhancing programs that improve the lives of children, their families and their communities.

Charged with managing an organization that existed primarily on paper, Danielle formalized the foundation – constructing the infrastructure to support and standardize its operations to further its mission. Due to her efforts and vision, the board appointed her to lead the foundation as its executive director in 2014.

Danielle continues to refine and expand the legacy of David and Gerry Pincus and their family. She and her team implement trust-based philanthropy, which focuses on intentionally learning, listening and being mindful of how each partnership helps the communities it serves. Under her leadership, the foundation has significantly advanced its mission of supporting nonprofit
partners that improve the lives of children, their families and their communities.

One of Danielle’s most notable accomplishments is the establishment of a partnership program with Boston Medical Center, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Temple University and Tulane University to support initiatives for children’s health and wellness. Danielle and her staff have capably stewarded the mission of PFF, allowing the second and third generation of Pincus family members to add their ethos while keeping the founders’ legacy alive.

Currently, Danielle is a member of Chief and serves on the board of the Philanthropy Network of Philadelphia. She holds certifications from the Nonprofit Executive Leadership Institute at Bryn Mawr College and the Philadelphia African American Leadership Development Forum. In addition to changing the trajectory of children’s lives through her work, Danielle was board chair of the Glassboro Child Development Center for twenty years and served as a foster parent to teenagers for over a decade. A wife, mother and grandmother, Danielle is fiercely passionate about family and is their constant rock.
