The Application Process
Step 1: Complete the Eligibility Quiz
All applications begin with a brief eligibility quiz. This one-minute assessment ensures your organization aligns with our funding priorities.
You must pass the eligibility quiz to proceed to the Letter of Inquiry (LOI).
Step 2: Letter of Inquiry (LOI)
Once you’ve successfully completed the eligibility quiz, you’ll be redirected to submit a Letter of Inquiry. Share the essentials about your organization, proposed project, and funding request. You can save your progress and return anytime. You’ll receive email confirmation once submitted.
Step 3: Full Application (If Invited)
Foundation staff review all LOIs within 4-12 weeks. Where appropriate, we’ll invite you to submit a complete application for Board consideration.
Step 4: Board Review
Grant approvals occur at Board meetings in February, May, September, and November. The process typically takes 3-5 months from initial inquiry to final approval.

We support 501(c)(3) organizations working with youth in four areas:

- Education
- Health & Wellness
- Play & Recreation

The Pincus Family Foundation largely partners with organizations serving communities within geographic areas of interest to the family:

- Southern New Jersey

What Doesn’t the Foundation Fund?
We do not fund:
- Political activities or candidates
- Individuals
- Religious doctrine promotion
- Event promotion (telethons, galas, walk-a-thons)
- Past operating deficits
- Travel or conference expenses
- Capital campaigns, building projects, or endowments
- 509(a)(3) organizations
Can Organizations With Fiscal Sponsors Apply?
Yes.
What Grant Amount Should We Request?
Grants vary based on program scope and organizational capacity. The Foundation disburses approximately $5 million annually. Clearly articulate your funding needs in your LOI. We value organizations with diversified funding sources and advise against relying on PFF for substantial, ongoing annual support.
